HAI-HWA MIDWEST ASIAN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO
MAY 3, 2008 - 8:00 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M.

Congratulations and many thanks to all the players, coaches, parents, ŇSPONSORSÓ and volunteers whose participation and support helped to make this yearŐs tournament another success.

The tournament started with opening ceremonies by Tournament Coordinator Gene Lee of The DragonŐs Athletic Association, remarks by Mr. Thomas T.C. Cheng, Director General, Taipei Economic Office in Chicago and Wayne Moy, President Of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association were acknowledged for their support, University of Illinois at Chicago, 25th Ward Alderman Danny S. Solis were also thanked for their sponsorships and support.. Gene Lee also thanked John Chan, Lee Rodriguez - Coach, Ciry Ramirez - Head Official, Erio Lo, Damon Wong, Joe Woo, Evan Lee and T.J. Moy - Tournament Control, and all the DragonŐs volunteers who worked very hard to make this yearŐs tournament another success.

Gene Lee took this opportunity to announced the Ň28th Annual North American Chinese Basketball TournamentÓ will be at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the Memorial Day weekend on May 23 - 26, 2008. This tournament was started in Chicago back in 1981 as a national event to showcase the best Chinese-American basketball players.
